Panagiotis Makridis

Panagiotis Makridis was born in Cyprus. His father-an officer of the Greek Army-came Salonika and his mother is a Greek-Cypriot from Larnaka. He studied Law at the Athens University and opera singing at Hellinikon Odeion. His first professional occupation was in the banking business, then as an interpreter and translator in one of Athens’ major publishing houses. His activity included also film subtitling. Alongside he contributed as a writer and reporter in Modern Army magazine on subjects such as history and Orders & Medals.
Being a passionate collector and dedicated Arts and music lover, in 2007 decided to start his own business venture in the world of Music, Theatre and the Arts by launching own cultural site “TO KENTRI”, promoting and organizing music concerts and cultural events collaborating with well-known artists and orchestras which is his main occupation.
Another important part of his life is covered by his interest in politics, mainly and foremost the communal affairs of Holargos, his hometown, where he was elected Community Councilor and served for several years as President of Holargos’ Cultural Centre. During his service he collaborated with many major artists and several Embassies, including India’s. His love in music resulted in writing a book on Mozart’s The Magic Flute among other articles on classical music.
